The company’s focus is designing, developing and marketing online strategy games for all platforms: Our global strategy hit-game “Conflict of Nations: World War 3” is at the center of our endeavors and constantly being refined and expanded across iOS, Android and PC/Steam.
Dev Ops Engineer / Sys Admin (Linux/CI/CD)(m/f/x)
As a dev ops engineer / sys admin you will be part of our interdisciplinary team, developing and adding to our new line-up of online games, starting with CONFLICT OF NATIONS: WORLD WAR 3 (http://ww3.tv/) and another unannounced title.
Workwise you can expect a professional environment utilizing a blend of proven and new technologies with our CI/CD pipeline of Jenkins, Ansible, Docker, GitHub and development & productions Linux systems utilizing Nginx, MySQL, Java, Redis, Memcached and other components on Google Cloud Engine.
Responsibilities
- Collaborating with our main development and hosting partner on maintaining high availability productions systems (Certificates, logfiles, backups, Analysis, Network, Nginx, MySQL, Java, Redis, memcached)
- Analysis & Optimization of high performance / high traffic systems on OS & application level)
- Maintaining and Improvement of the automated development processes (Jenkins, Ant, Ansible, Docker)
- Close collaboration with the game development and community team.
- Collaborating closely with all departments and key members to create and deliver an exceptional and involving online game play experience
Qualifications
- Excellent skills in IT maintenance, data base / network architecture, systems integration as well as system administration (Debian, Linux) and automation
- Experience with high load / high availability systems and load optimizations
- Experience with cloud systems (ideally Google Cloud) and connected scaling tools (i.e. Ansible / Kubernetes etc)
- Experience in shipping, releasing or live developing on at least one commercial product or game
- Ability to articulate and document technical designs clearly and analytically
- Ability to communicate effectively and objectively in English
Desirable Skills
- Passion for videogames
- Knowledge of multiplayer/PvP/online game development practices
- Familiarity with agile software development and scrum-based working environments
- Optional: Groovy or other relevant scripting languages
